Vacancies in Computing Skills at WSU
There are vacancies in the U3A Computing Skills course delivered at Western Sydney University, Hawkesbury in December. This is a special arrangement for U3A members to utilise and benefit from the terrific WSU facilities and staff.
The course will be delivered by a number of WSU staff, led by Alex Whylie-Atmore. In recent courses, the students have covered topics such as using Google maps and creating presentations using internet resources. The courses are always interesting and well-structured, with plenty to learn for both beginners and more experienced computer users. The course will run:
    • From 12:30 to 3:30pm
    • Thursday 5 December
    • Thursday 12 December
    • Thursday 19 December
Note: While participating in the course is part of your U3A membership, there is a $7 charge for parking in the grounds of the University. Contact the U3A office to enrol in this course, and more details will then be provided prior to commencement.
End of Year Luncheon
The big function to celebrate another terrific year for Hawkesbury U3A will be held:
    • Monday 2 December
    • 11:30am for 12:30 lunch
    • Hawkesbury Masonic Centre
    • 731 George Street, South Windsor

Come along with your classmates, or come and make new friends. It is a fun way to end the year.

Tickets are $25 per person for a delicious baked dinner and dessert, and will be on sale from September from the office. Information about any special dietary requirements MUST be given when purchasing tickets. We will happily accept bookings for a table of ten on payment of the tickets.

Of course we will also be having our “Raffle Extravaganza”, and members are invited to donate items for prizes. Remember, please donate items that you would be happy to receive yourself. Books in excellent condition are very welcome. Drop your items into the office. For newer members, the raffles are held to raise money to cover the cost of the meals for the Tutors and Convenors, a token of our appreciation for their voluntary efforts during the year.
